Bill- Bill has turned into a phenomenal camp horse. He is our only quarter horse in the program and campers love his smooth jog. Bill requires a soft yet firm rider and usually when campers excel with Bill it tells us of their horse ability. Bill is very playful and can usually be seen nipping and playing with his pasture mates. |
Bullet- The first thing to say about Bullet is that he has his own fan club. When he developed colic last year that required surgery there was no thought that we had to do everything we could to save his life. He has dozens of pet names by campers and is always the horse that gets the most hugs by the end of the week. |

Commander- Our 2nd largest rideable horse at 15.3 is also a camp favorite as he is only ridden in a bareback pad b/c of age and confirmation. He tries very hard to always take care of his rider and goes out of his way to help them balance and enjoy their ride. He comes “alive” when campers arrive and truly lives to serve. |
Diamond- The newest to the program. She is a thoroughbred and our youngest and tallest horse, beating out Commander. Already she is showing herself to be very friendly, loving kids and highly relational coming up the fence and wanting to be rubbed. Look for updates on her as we get to know her better. |

Hara- Many people through the years at Camp Jabez probably remember Hara. She is our tried and true. She loves little kids and loves to serve them. She is the matriarch of the herd, and while she doesn’t exert her dominance all of the time, she will tell the geldings who is “really” in charge every now and then. She was a camper favorite for our very small and timid riders. She is the oldest of our herd, however you would never know it by looking at her. We retired Hara from any riding last year due to her age and those things that go along with aging. |
Larry- Our funny playful pony. You can’t stay in a bad mood around Larry, he’ll either make you smile or laugh with his clever antics or his kisses. Larry is currently only being used in our groundwork segment where again he makes everyone fall in love with him. He is a quick learner and he should be ready to move up the ranks to an official riding horse in the summer program of 2008 |

Mr.P (Perfect)- Lives up to his name. In the herd, he is always trying to gain dominance, hardly winning but always trying. He is also a camper favorite with his very docile behavior as campers learn how to groom, label parts of a horse and do groundwork with him. He is very sensitive and when he is working with a camper doing groundwork, all eyes are on the camper and he is always asking how he can serve them next. |
Rocky- Who we lovingly call the grumpy old man, is Hara’s best friend. They are typically near each other out in the pasture. Rocky is one of our mainstays at the camp, handling everyone from our first time riders to more advanced. He is extremely smart but during summer camps dreams of being back out to pasture with his buddies. He can usually be accused of slowly making his way to the barn exit. |

Tuffy- A true answer to prayer as we were unsure who would ever be able to take the place of our special treasure, Hara. Then Tuffy came along. He takes all of our more timid riders and takes extra special care with each one, whether they are scared, nervous or just beginning their relationship with horses. His best friend in the field is our pony, Larry who he loves to push around. You would never know that Tuffy is our 2nd oldest by the way he plays with Larry. |
Zak- The herd leader, Came to CJ last summer, and quickly became the top horse in the herd. He is extremely sensitive and loves to play with the campers during groundwork time. However he also loves to show off during riding time by turning for the campers with just a glance in a direction. Zak will always be the first to greet anyone in the pasture or arena. |

Cinnamon- A camper favorite as well. She loves playing with the kids at groundwork and usually wows them as she does the circle game, jumping the pole as she circles the camper. Her second passion is driving and looks adorable as she is hooked up to the pony cart and drives people around. |
Ginger- Mom to Rosebud is probably how she is best known, however she is extremely sensitive and loves to do groundwork. She loves the friendly game with the campers and is trying her heart out to help the campers learn. |

Rosebud- Last but certainly not least although she is the smallest, she may be considered the camp mascot. Rosebud draws everyone in, whether they are a horse lover or not. You can’t make it into the doorway of the barn without wanting to pet and rub on Rosebud. Come out to camp and get to know her, you’ll fall in love as well!! |
